POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer, the Manager of Cannabis Operations will primarily be responsible for the day to day production and management of labor for optimal cannabis production at the OneLeaf Onyx facility located in Regina, SK. The Manager of Cannabis Operations will play a crucial role in the quality and compliant, cultivation and production schedules of cannabis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage OneLeaf’s Cultivation Department and lead in developing and maintaining operational plant programs to ensure the highest of quality and compliance under the Cannabis Act/Regulations, working cross-departmentally with OneLeaf’s QA;
  • Monitor and assume responsibility for overall plant health and crop yield to ensure maximum yields, cost efficiency, and quality standards through plant strain analysis and other analytical observations;
  • Oversee all tasks related to growing process, including seeding, cloning, transplanting, nutrient management, pest management, defoliation, topping, flushing, foliar, waste disposal, etc.;
  • Develop and maintain nutrient regime; perform water, nutrient and soil tests to determine nutrient selection;
  • Develop and maintain protocols for lighting, temperature and humidity manipulation and irrigation controls;
  • Perform preventative maintenance on test instruments and growing equipment to mitigate development of plant diseases, insects and fungi;
  • Maintain mother plants for research, tissue culture and future production; monitor clone production according to harvest schedules;
  • Coordinate all production schedules to ensure staffing coverage and efficiency of plant operations;
  • Develop and implement training programs around plant operations and record keeping compliance and continuously assess training gaps;
  • Keep accurate records and ensure documentation is readily accessible and highly organized;
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices for the provisions of the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations; and
  • Other duties as required.

Required Responsibilities as per Cannabis Regulations:

  • Ensure that plant operations of the licensed site comply with the requirements of the Cannabis Regulations;
  • Oversee cultivation, propagation and harvesting of cannabis; and
  • Submit, secure and maintain a valid security clearance;

 

BACKGROUND:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field preferred (Biology, Horticulture, etc.);
  • 5+ years’ management experience in a similar production environment;
  • Expert knowledge in plant disease and pest mitigation without use of chemicals;
  • Proficient understanding of Cannabis Regulations compliance and application in relation to plant operations;
  • Advanced knowledge of cannabis plant and genetics strongly preferred;
  • Extensive experience in propagation
  • Experience with automated environmental control software, programming, determining set points and monitoring practices
  • Knowledge and compliance with GPP, GMP and GLP will be required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule; and
  • Valid security clearance (ACMPR or Cannabis Regulations) strongly preferred.

Security and IT Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Security and IT Specialist will primarily be responsible for the day to day security and IT requirements at the OneLeaf Onyx facility located in Regina, SK. The Security and IT Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing all security operations across the organization in accordance with the Cannabis Act, as well as be responsible for the management, strategy and execution of all IT infrastructure for the licensed facility.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Scope Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the licensed site’s Security Department and lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining Security Programs and projects to ensure security compliance under the Cannabis Act/Regulations.
  • Work cross-departmentally to ensure security compliance is strictly adhered to (i.e. Operations, Regulatory, Quality Assurance);
  • Operate video surveillance systems, monitoring all access control and intrusion detection systems; monitor and report violations of overall safety and security procedures through the licensed site;
  • Assist in developing and implementing training programs around SOPs pertaining to security and security record keeping compliance and assess training gaps continuously;
  • Support security programs to oversee and record response to any security incidents and breaches;
  • Support systems/programs of control that ensure loss prevent and detection;
  • Assist in coordinating with 3rd party security providers/contractors for security installations and monitoring systems for the licensed site;
  • Collaborate with QA Department to develop and perform internal audits regularly to determine security compliance according to Cannabis Regulations;
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices for the provisions of the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations that apply to the license holder;
  • Develop and oversee all metrics for hardware, software, and storage;
  • Assist in selection, implementation, and support of IT systems and Network infrastructure;
  • Liaise between all departments as necessary to understand requirements and how best to meet them;
  • Direct and support the implementation of new software and hardware;
  • Identify and recommend new technology solutions;
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services; and
  • Other duties and activities as required.

Required Responsibilities as per Cannabis Regulations (upon receipt of appropriate security clearance from Health Canada):

  • Support the Responsible Person (RP) or designated Alternate in security matters as it pertains to the compliance of the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations;
  • Ensure that the physical security measures of the licensed site comply with the security requirements of the Cannabis Regulations;
  • Develop and maintain the license holder’s organizational security plan specified in the Cannabis Regulations;
  • Submit, secure and maintain a valid security clearance;

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’ Degree in a related field (i.e. Security Management or Information Technology) obtained or recognized by a Canadian University or institution;
  • 5+ years’ management experience in a Security or IT Department within a similar production environment;
  • Professional security designation considered an asset (i.e. ASIS CPP, ASIS PSP);
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, cybersecurity, architecture, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems;
  • Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats;
  • Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively;
  • Certification of Qualification from ITA for security alarm installation considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of security plans and their applications;
  • Recent criminal record check completed (required prior to hiring);
  • Solid ERP, MS Office Suite, Adobe Pro, G-Suite, AutoCAD and additional technical proficiency;
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment is strongly preferred; and
  • Valid security clearance (ACMPR or Cannabis Regulations) strongly preferred.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven knowledge and experience related to the responsibilities of the position;
  • Cybersecurity experience strongly desirable; and
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing proactive security compliance programs and systems.

Plant Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Plant Technician is a member of the Cultivation Team that aids in the co-ordination of all the daily activities in the production facility. We are looking to add high energy individuals who are ambitious and dedicated to a common goal.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Scope Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily care and maintenance of plants including cloning, potting, pruning, watering, harvesting, trimming, etc.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility at all times.
  • Harvest, sterilize, and re-populate rooms efficiently, while adhering to procedures and predetermined timelines
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to daily work activities to maintain compliance with regulations
  • Aid in keeping appropriate records and logs as required
  • Maintain suitable care of tools, equipment, and production facility as a whole
  • Support Quality Assurance, Head of Cultivation, and Production Supervisor as required
  • Work cohesively in a group, or independently as needed
  • Weekend work could be required
  • Other duties as assigned and as needed for company success

Experience and Background:

  • Must have exceptional attention to detail
  • Must be able to carry out often repetitive, physical tasks at a continuously high level of quality
  • Exceptional attendance
  • Experience with top notch sanitation and cleanliness
  • Ability to remain flexible to changing work schedules and varying tasks, as required
  • Knowledge and experience in indoor cannabis cultivation is an asset
  • GMP/GPP : 2 years (Preferred)
  • Production: 3 years (Preferred)
